National tattoo academy was founded by Louis Downey in the year 2003 specifically to target the needs of the growing tattoo artist’s demand over the country and in many different parts of the world. Louis Downey was a licensed tattoo artist, who after ten years of work experience opened up the academy to impart the knowledge and the art to students who are interested in taking up the course.
In the year 2009, Louis long time friend, Charles Peters, joined the academy and became the co-owner of the same and also the school operations manager. Together both Louis and Charles set a planned and well designed curriculum for the course with training and the required equipment for the same.

The complete course usually is designed for 360 hours. Depending on the speed and the learning capabilities the total course hours may vary and sometimes even extends the prescribed time period. Student who complete the course in the extended time period are required to pay an extra amount for the extra hours undergone for the training. The complete schedule is flexible and lets an individual plan accordingly to attend the course at national tattoo academy. The academy is targeting bright students and would like to keep up the reputation they have built themselves over the period of time. The National tattoo academy is a registered academy and is licensed by the Oregon department of education in the year 2003.

The complete course would cost you around $1800 and there is no particular time schedule to complete the course. It depends on the speed with which you learn and perform.
